The next Buffaloes player expected to be selected quickly was Shedeur Sanders. However, the quarterback dramatically fell to the fifth round, where the Browns eventually selected him at No. 144 overall.
Hunter was eagerly waiting for any team to pick his former teammate. During the first round, when the Saints were on the clock, he even paused his press conference, hoping New Orleans would select Sanders â but they didnât.
Fortunately for Sanders, he didnât go undrafted as many feared after his surprising slide. After the Browns selected him in the fifth round, Travis Hunter showed his emotion and happiness seeing his friend finally join an NFL team.
On Instagram, the Buffaloes shared a video showing Travis Hunterâs reaction as he heard the Browns had picked Shedeur Sanders. âYes sir! Letâs get it!â Hunter said excitedly. âMy boy to the Browns, letâs go!â
