The Golden Knights continue making every possible move to dethrone Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers. First, a surprising trade for Mitch Marner, and now the next step is negotiating a contract extension for Jack Eichel.

In an exclusive interview with W.G. Ramirez, Eichel finally dropped hints about what could be his final decision. All signs point to him staying in Las Vegas to form a formidable duo with Marner after that big decision of leaving Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“Obviously, I’m happy in Vegas. The organization has been great to me. I think that stuff kind of takes care of itself (contract extension), and I kind of worry more so about the things I can control and try to prepare for next season.”

Will Jack Eichel sign contract extension with Golden Knights?

Jack Eichel publicly stated that he intends to sign a contract extension with the Golden Knights. However, the financial details remain the biggest obstacle to what could become the biggest deal in the team’s history.

The contract is projected to be for eight years with an average annual value of $13 million, surpassing the team’s current top contracts. Both Eichel and the organization have expressed mutual interest in getting the extension done, with negotiations already underway.

Can Jake Eichel be eligible for an extension with Golden Knights?

Yes. Jack Eichel is now eligible to sign a contract extension with the Vegas Golden Knights. NHL rules allow players to begin negotiating extensions once they are within the final year of their current contract, and Eichel officially entered that window on July 1, 2025.

He is set to play the final season of the eight-year deal he originally signed back in 2017, and now both he and the team can begin working toward a new agreement that would keep him in Vegas beyond the 2025–26 season.
