This achievement marks the 17th season in which Kane has reached the 20-goal milestone, surpassing Mike Modano to become the player with the most such seasons in NHL history. The win, which brings the Red Wings closer to playoff contention, highlighted the team’s resurgence down the stretch of the regular season.

Kane’s excitement about reaching this personal milestone was tempered by the importance of the victory for the Red Wings, who now find themselves just four points behind the Montreal Canadiens in the race for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
