Venezuela will face the Copa America 2021 as a challenge to keep structuring a competitive team. La Vinotinto is still adapting to the ideas of Jose Peseiro, who assumed the position of head coach last year. The tournament will be a great opportunity to improve their game ahead of the rest of the World Cup Qualifiers

Venezuela has never won the tournament before and doesn’t expect to do so this year. Their best result was a fourth place in the 2011 edition. In 2019, they fell 2-0 against Argentina at the quarterfinals and they aim to, at least, equalize that result.

La Vinotinto is in the group B with Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It is a tough group for the Venezuelans, who will have to fight to not finish bottom and get knocked out of the tournament. This is Venezuela’s schedule in the Copa America 2021.

Venezuela vs Brazil - June 13

La Vinotinto will open the tournament against the local team on June 13th at Estadio Nacional de Brasilia. The duel will start at 5:00 PM (ET). It certainly will be a tough match for Venezuela, but they already get a point against Brazil in the Copa America 2019 after a 0-0 draw.

Venezuela vs Colombia - June 17

Then, Venezuela will face off their neighbours, Colombia, for Matchday 2. The encounter will be played at Estádio Olímpico Pedro Ludovico Teixeira, in the city of Goiânia. The last time they met was in October 2020, and Colombia won 3-0.

Venezuela vs Ecuador - June 20

La Vinotinto’s third match is going to be against Ecuador. This could be a crucial encounter for both teams, as they probably have to count on those points to not get out of the tournament. The match will be held at Olimpico Nilton Santos at 5:00 PM (ET).

Venezuela vs Peru - June 27

This game could mean the access to quarterfinals for one of these two teams. So, it will promise excitement. They will meet at Estadio Nacional de Brasília and the game will start at 5:00 PM (ET).
