Costa Rica will come againstMexicoat the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San Jose on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 7:00 PM (ET) in theCONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers 2022. Here, you will find the expected lineups of both teams that will appear in the Matchday 2of the Final Round.

This will be their 58th overall meeting.There are no surprises here as Mexico are the firm favorites in head-to-head clashes, having celebrated a victory on 33occasionsso far; Costa Ricahave grabbed a triumph just seven timesto this day, and17gameshave ended in a draw.

Their most recent match was played onJune 3, 2021,when El Tri emerged victorious on penalties aftera goalless 0-0 draw in the 2021 CONCACAF Nations League Semi-Finals. It promises to be an even more exciting clash as these two countries clash for the third time this year, this time at theWorld Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

While Keylor Navas did not play in the Gold Cup, he came back to play for Costa Rica against Panama, and he did not disappoint. The Ticos have a lot of experience, and Bryan Ruiz, who played as a substitute last week, may start this time around for the national side. With more than 100 caps for Brazil, he’ll be joined by captain Celso Borges at midfield.

On the other hand, severalof Mexico’s star players are restricted from joining their national teams, thus El Tri will bewithout a number of their most important players, withRaul Jimenez being one of them. A replacement for Jimenez has been named, and it is Santiago Gimenez. Ahead of these qualifications, Hector Herrera and Hirving Lozano were left out owing to injuries.
