Cristiano Ronaldoās contract with Al Nassr is set to expire in June 2025, but the Saudi Pro League powerhouse is reportedly pulling out all the stops to secure an extension for the 40-year-old superstar.
Since Ronaldoās arrival, the league has experienced massive growth, attracting marquee players and elevating its competitive level. Al Nassrās management, determined to keep the Madeira-born icon, has already placed a lucrative offer on the table.
Negotiations reportedly began this past January, with Ronaldo said to be content in Riyadh and still eager to compete at a high level. The five-time Ballon dāOr winner is even eyeing a farewell after the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
Al Nassrās proposal reportedly includes a two-year deal, with the final season as an optional extension for Ronaldo. Additionally, the clubās sporting director, Fernando Hierro, has reinforced the team by signing Colombian forward Jhon DurĆ”n and committing to building a top-tier squad.

Chasing the 1,000-goal milestone
Since joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo has netted an impressive 96 goals, bringing his career total to 933. With only 67 goals standing between him and the elusive 1,000-goal mark, the achievement no longer seems out of reach for the prolific forward.
Ronaldoās current form mirrors his best years, with 25 goals in 23 matches this season, including nine in his last nine games. His closest competitor in the race to 1,000 goals is Lionel Messi, who has tallied 863 career goals. Messi, however, holds a slight edge in age, as the 37-year-old continues to shine with Inter Miami and the Argentine national team.
