Eden Hazard is once again causing woes at Real Madrid for turning up overweight during the soccer pre-season. According to Spanish outlet ABC, the Belgian midfielder has upset Zinedine Zidane with his fitness and would now need several weeks to return to normal.

After the end of the 2020-2021 La Liga season, the 29-year-old joined his Belgian teammates on international duty. However, he was an unused substitute in both games as coach Roberto Martinez had claimed Eden 'wasn’t fit enough'.

The first time Hazard showed up at Real Madrid looking a bit chubby was last summer. It was a huge let-down for the Madrid faithful who, at the time, had high hopes for the player, especially after his $118m move from Chelsea.

Unfortunately, he disappointed with his form and physical appearance. In addition, he was on the sidelines for the majority of the season due to injuries.

"It's true. I'm not going to hide it, but when I'm on vacation, I'm on vacation", he admitted to L'Equipe last November. "I had put on five kilos, I'm the type to put on quickly and lose so quickly if I'm careful.'"

The La Liga champions were quick with the response to the rumors. They recently shared a photo of Hazard working out in the gym.
