Portugal advanced to the 2025 UEFA Nations League final with a 2-1 victory over Germany, thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldoand Francisco Conceicao. Managed by Roberto Martinez, Portugal are now one match away from capturing the trophy for the second time in their history.
The match began as a tightly contested battle, with both teams defending solidly and preventing any scoring in the first half, heading into the break with a 0-0 scoreline.
It wasn’t until the second half that Germany opened the scoring with a controversial goal by Florian Wirtz, which could have been called offside, following a magnificent assist from Joshua Kimmich.
When it seemed like Germany might claim the win, Martinez introduced Conceicao and Vitinha, who changed the game’s dynamics. Portugal’s equalizer came at the 62th minute, with a stunning long-range goal from Conceicao, providing the team with the momentum they needed.
Five minutes later at the 67th, Cristiano Ronaldo emerged to tap in a goal following an assist from Nuno Mendes, securing the victory and a spot in the final. Portugal will now aim to capture the UEFA Nations League trophy for the second time.
