The Gold Cup 2021 is just days away. Honduras will start off their campaign on July 13th against Grenade, and Fabián Coito’s team is hopeful to have a deep run in the tournament. But first they have to get through the group stage. Besides Grenade, their other rivals will be Panama and Qatar.

Honduras’ head coach, Fabián Coito, will have 23 men in the squad for the tournament to try to get the best result. While Honduras is considered one of the strongest teams in the region, they couldn’t get through the group stage in the last two editions (2015 and 2019).

This will be their 15th appearance in the tournament. Besides being runner-up in 1991, Honduras have reached the semi-finals four times. And they have won the third place on two occasions (2005, 2009). Can they have a similar run this time around?

Honduras Gold Cup 2021 squad

The Uruguayan Fabián Coito selected 23 men to compete in the Gold Cup 2021. There were few surprises in the squad. For example, Antony “Choco” Lozano is not in the list despite the press announcing his presence.

However, the roster has eight players that play for clubs outside Honduras, including four that play in the MLS: midfielders Bryan Acosta and Boniek Garcia, defender Maynor Figueroa and forward Romell Quioto. This is the full squad:
