21,000 spectators are hoping to witness history when Lionel Messi finally makes his PSG debut against Reims in week 4 of Ligue 1. PSG have begun their campaign with a perfect 3-0 start, while Reims have drawn all three of their games to start the season.

For Messi it will be the end of a long saga, which saw the 34-year-old Argentine win the Copa America and call time on his Barcelona career when Barcelona could not retain Messi’s contract due to their financial woes. Then PSG came in with a mega two-year deal and jersey sales that have netted the club $100 million in sales.

Expectation has been brewing for two weeks as fans all over the world want to witness history and see Lionel Messi in a PSG jersey and playing with Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. At least for 21,000 fans in the stadium they will be able to witness soccer history in person. In the United States you can watch the Reims and PSG match on beIn Sports.

Reims had only sold 6,000 tickets for this home match three weeks ago, but when Messi signed with PSG it changed everything and the remaining tickets were sold in a few hours. While Ligue 1 is considered a powerful league in the world, it is not known for selling out their stadiums.

Reims Sales Manager Alexandre Jeannin stated that the club had received ticket requests from all corners of the globe, something that has never happened before. Jeannin saw requests from Chile, South Korea, Thailand, Egypt, and India.

According to media sources, scalpers had been selling tickets between 35 to 100 Euros but now with Messi still waiting to play his first PSG game, tickets are said to be now between 400 and 1,000 Euros in the black market.
