There’s a long history between Mexico and El Salvador. El Tri have a record of 24 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats against El Salvador. In the Gold Cup, they have met in three matches, with Mexico winning all of them and only conceding one goal.
Their most recent meeting came at the group stage of the 2017 Gold Cup. Hedgardo Marin, Elias Hernandez and Orbelin Pineda scored in a 3-1 victory for Mexico. However, this time, El Salvador are hopeful to get a good result thanks to their talent upfront.
