Peru and Colombia will clash today for the Third-place match in the Copa America 2021. After being defeated in the semifinals by Brazil and Argentina respectively, both teams will try to close their tournament with a win.

After starting the tournament with a 4-0 defeat against Brazil, Ricardo Gareca’s team found its way to defeat Colombia and Venezuela, and win the second place of Group B. They held a 3-3 draw against Paraguay and reached the quarter-finals on penalties, but they couldn’t do anything against La Canarinha. With a lone goal from Lucas Paquetá, Brazil took the win in the semifinals.

On the other side, Colombia had an unsteady run in the tournament. They started with a win over Ecuador, but then drew against Venezuela and lost against Peru and Brazil. In the knockout stage, they drew with Uruguay and Argentina. Now, Reinaldo Rueda’s team is looking for a rematch with La Blanquirroja.

Peru’s confirmed starting XI

For this match, André Carrillo will come back to the starting team after losing a match for being suspended against Paraguay. After proving a defensive system against Brazil, Ricardo Gareca will try something more ambitious this time.

So, this will be Peru's lineup against Colombia: Pedro Gallese; Aldo Corzo, Alexander Callens, Anderson Santamaría, Marcos Lopez; Renato Tapia, Yoshimar Yotun; André Carrillo, Sergio Peña, Christian Cueva; Gianluca Lapadula.

Colombia’s confirmed lineup

On the other hand, Reinaldo Rueda has all his players available for Friday’s match. Against Argentina, Duvan Zapata started but then was replaced by Miguel Borja, who had a good performance. But the Atalanta striker will keep his spot against Peru.

Colombia’s lineup for this match will be: Camilo Vargas; Stefan Medina, Yerry Mina, Oscar Murillo, William Tesillo; Juan Cuadrado, Wilmar Barrios, Gustavo Cuéllar, Luis Díaz; Edwin Cardona, Duvan Zapata
