Currently in Paris competing in the Roland Garros and chasing his 25th Grand Slam title, Djokovic has been immersed in the vibrant atmosphere created by PSG fans. After his second-round win against Corentin Moutet, the Serbian legend didnât shy away from sharing his support for PSG in the upcoming showdown.
âI want PSG to win the Champions League finalâsorry, Inter, but Iâm a big Milan fan,â said Djokovic, the winner of 24 Grand Slam titles, citing his allegiance to AC Milan as the reason behind his preference.
While Djokovic is famously a Red Star Belgrade supporter in his home country, his love for AC Milan has been well-documented. The tennis icon has attended several Milan matches, including the 2023 Champions League semifinal derby against Inter. He even received a personalized, autographed Milan jersey as a birthday gift from the team.
Back in 2014, during the Shanghai Open, the Milan squad attended one of Djokovicâs matches. Djokovic nearly joined AC Milan in 2024
According to reports from the Italian outlet La Repubblica and ESPN, AC Milan majority owner Gerry Cardinale considered hiring Djokovic as a mental coach for the team.
The idea was to leverage Djokovicâs legendary mental toughness to assist players facing personal or career challenges. However, the club ultimately didnât pursue the proposal, opting instead to rely on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who serves as a personal advisor and liaison between the players and management.
