Shakhtar Donetsk have done the unthinkable once again and shocked the world after beating 13-time UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid at home. The Spanish side are now in a very complicated position, with Shakhtar and Borussia Monchengladbach heading to the round of 16 right now.
Shakhtar needed a good second-half performance to upset the Spanish giants and drop them to the 3rd position of Group B, which would send them to the UEFA Europa League if the group stage ended today.
This is not a good thing for Madrid and they need to find a way to overcome their crisis. They have struggled all season long and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. Meanwhile, the football world reacted to their defeat, making plenty of jokes about them.

The club need to do something quickly before it’s too late. Next round they go against Borussia Monchengladbach, the leader of the group.
