Seattle Sounders reached this stage after defeating Tigres UANL (3-0) in the quarterfinals back in August. They are the only American team left in the competition. Being the first in the Western Conference, Brian Schmetzerās side will try to show that same consistency against their Mexican rivals.
Meanwhile, Santos Laguna is coming to this match after beating Orlando City 1-0 in the quarterfinals. The Mexican side hasnāt had the best start of the season in their domestic league, being sixth with five draws, 2 wins and one loss.
