Seattle Sounders and Santos Laguna will face each other for the semifinal of the 2021 Leagues Cup at Lumen Field. The winner will meet with either Club Leon or Pumas UNAM to try to become the new champions of the tournament.
Seattle Sounders reached this stage after defeating Tigres UANL (3-0) in the quarterfinals back in August. They are the only American team left in the competition. Being the first in the Western Conference, Brian Schmetzer’s side will try to show that same consistency against their Mexican rivals.
Meanwhile, Santos Laguna is coming to this match after beating Orlando City 1-0 in the quarterfinals. The Mexican side hasn’t had the best start of the season in their domestic league, being sixth with five draws, 2 wins and one loss.
