Sweden come against Spain at the Friends Arena in Stockholm today, September 2, at 2:45 PM (ET), in the European World Cup Qualifiers 2022. Here, you will find everything there is to know about this Group B Matchday 4 game, such as the preview, information, predictions, odds, storylines, and how to watch or live stream the game in the US.

This will be their 16th overall meeting. No surprises here as Spain are the favorites in head-to-head clashes, having celebrated a victory on six occasions so far; Sweden have grabbed a triumph three times to this day, and a great number of even six games have ended in a draw.

Their last match was played on June 14, 2021, and it ended in a disappointing goalless 0-0 draw in their first matchup in this Group Stage. It promises to be an even more exciting clash as these two countries clash for the second time in just a couple of months, at the European World Cup Qualifiers 2022.

Sweden vs Spain: Storylines

Sweden have been in great form in the two Qatar 2022 Qualifying matches so far, emerging victorious in the clashes against Georgia and Kosovo. Meanwhile, Spain have also been off to a perfect start of the Qualifiers, winning twice in their first three games, and drawing once. They managed to beat Georgia and Kosovo but were held to a draw by Greece.

The Blue and Yellow currently sit in second place on the Group B table with six points in two games so far. On the other hand, La Furia Roja are placed right above them, on top of the Group B table with seven points won after three matches.

These opponents have a long history of clashes as their first one dates back to July 16, 1950, when interestingly, Sweden celebrated a 3-1 triumph at the 1950 FIFA World Cup.  Prior to that, they unofficially met on September 1, 1920, and it ended in a 2-1 Spain win in the 1920 Olympic consolation tournament. Thanks to this exciting clash, we will see if either one of the clubs will grab the three points in Round 4.
