USMNT vs Mexico: Storylines

The United States and Mexico will meet each other for the 71st time. Also, it will be their eighth game with a trophy at stake. Their last time they faced in a decisive game was in the 2019 Gold Cup Final, and El Tricolor conquered the trophy thanks to a lonely goal by Jonathan Dos Santos.

Mexico has the lead in the all time series with 36 victories, 19 draws and only 15 losses. They also have won more when it comes to championship matches against the USA: 6-1. The last time the United States defeated Mexico was in an international friendly back in September 2018.
