Barcelona have long been one of Europe’s most successful football clubs with a rich history shaped by players like Johan Cruyff, Ronaldinho, and Lionel Messi. However, in recent years, success in the Champions League has proven elusive.

The last time Barcelona won the UEFA Champions League was in the 2014–15 season, led by the attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. The team, managed by Luis Enrique, capped off the campaign with a 3–1 win over Juventus in the final at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Ivan Rakitic opened the scoring, Suarez added a second after Alvaro Morata’s equalizer, and Neymar sealed the result in stoppage time.

In the knockout rounds, Barcelona eliminated Manchester City in the round of 16, Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals, and Bayern Munich in the semifinals. In the semis, they beat Pep Guardiola’s Bayern 5–3 on aggregate, with Messi scoring twice in the first leg at the Camp Nou.

That same year, Barcelona completed a treble, by also winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey. While since then, the Blaugranas have won four league titles and five Copas, they struggled with in their European campaigns.
