Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is a household name in Mexico and MLS, one of the best Mexican soccer players of all-time, the nation’s all-time leading scorer has found it hard to crack back into Tata Martino’s squad.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was already left off the first batch of qualifiers in September, and it looks like that has not changed as Tata Martino favors other forwards at the moment and it has the LA Galaxy forward down the pecking order.

Martino took a total of 6 forwards all of which he considers are in better form than the all-time Mexico leading goal scorer. For Chicharito Hernandez he may have played his last games for Mexico.

While Chicharito Hernandez has had a very good season with the LA Galaxy in MLS, scoring 12 goals in 16 matches, his season has also been hampered by injuries and gossip columns in Mexico. Chicharito has not closed the door on returning to the Mexican national team, but it looks like he has fallen out of favor over younger and more in form forwards.

Raúl Jiménez, Jesús Corona, Hirving Lozano, and Rogelio Funes Mori have all been given Tata’s vote of confidence and with the recent snubs for Chicharito, it looks like he may no longer figure in the plans of Tata Martino.
