Manchester United were negotiating a transfer for Sancho all summer, but Borussia Dortmund insisted on asking $140m for his services. However, the asking pricewas not the only problem, according to British media.

As per The Guardian, Sancho’s movewould have cost around$300m, including the transfer fee, plus his wage demands and the fee wanted by his agents. Thus, the Premier League side concluded that such cost would be economically unjustified in a financial crisis when theclub suffered a huge loss of revenue due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Borussia’s stance on the Sancho rumors

“Jadon Sancho will play with us next season,” he said. “The decision is final. I think that answers all the questions,”BVB sporting directorMichael Zorc stated for Ruhr Nachrichten. “Everything that can be said on this subject has already been said. Nothing will change that.”

instead of Sancho,United signed Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, 33, on a free transfer, as well as Brazilian defender Alex Telles,27, who arrived from Porto for $17m.In spite of the failed move, the Red Devils’ board reportedly don’t intend to give up on the 20-year-old winger.
