The 22-year-oldwill have to keep on waiting at least for another three years to make his firstappearance in theSummer Olympics as he has also missed the previous edition held in Río de Janeiro, Brazil.
Many people could have expected the PSG sensation to be leading his country at the ultimate sports event, yet his club had other plans for him. Mbappé had no other choice but to accept it, whilehisOlympics dreamsremainunfulfilled.

Although he seemed eager to represent his country at the Olympic Games, Paris Saint-Germain forbid Kylian Mbappé from playing at Tokyo 2020. The French giantshave also disallowed Neymar and others from participating in the competition.
Apparently, PSG didn’t want to miss any of their key players for the beginning of preseason, while they were worried that Mbappe wouldn’t get enough time to rest if he traveled to Tokyo. Not long ago, he has also played for France at Euro 2020.
Besides, as it’s not a FIFA tournament, the Ligue 1 side wasn’t obliged to releasing its players. PSG knew that Mbappé would need vacations at some point, and they preferred that he had thembefore the final stretch of preseason.
