A lot of people were ready to sound off the alarms when Team USA dropped back-to-back games to Nigeria and Australia. Some said that it were warm-up games and that they’d figure it out come the Olympics.
Well, now Team USA is officially 0-1 in the important tournament and judging by what we’ve seen thus far, there are multiple reasons why they’re no longer the favorite to take home the gold medal.
Team USA lost to France and was uncomfortable throughout the whole game. Despite their NBA experience and expertise, they just could never establish their offense in the game and were kind of embarrassed.

It’s clear that Team USA should do a lot of soul-searching over the next couple of days. One loss doesn’t mean anything if they’re able to bounce back, but they’re not often put in this kind of situation.
Since the Redeem Team, USA have been used to dominating and crushing through their opposition. Then again, for the first time ever, they’re going at teams with as much NBA experience as them.
Making the adjustment to FIBA basketball is easier for foreignplayers than it is forAmerican NBA stars. They won’t give you the same calls, they will call you out when you travel. It’s just not the same.
