In recent years, several tennis legends have said goodbye to the sport, such as Serena Williams, Roger Federer, GarbiƱe Muguruza, Rafael Nadal, Angelique Kerber, and more. However, Venus Williams, despite not having played in a year, has recently stated that she hasnāt retired from the sport.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion is joining TNTās commentary crew for the upcoming French Open, and in an interview with the channel she has clarified her careerās status. āWhile I havenāt retired and am still open to returning to the court when the time feels right, commentating allows me to stay immersed in the sport without the physical demands of competition,ā said Venus addressing the rumors.
āThis decision wasnāt about stepping away from playing but about embracing a new way to contribute to the sport thatās shaped me. Tennis has given me so much, and now I have the chance to give back by telling its stories, celebrating its stars, and sharing its magic,ā she added.
Williams is not the only tennis legend to join TNTās team for the French Open. Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Chris Evert, Lindsay Davenport, Jim Courier, Chris Evert, Mats Wilander and Boris Becker, who all have ample experience commenting, will be also part of the lineup.
