Ja’Marr Chase tried to appeal the one-game suspension the NFL gave him for spitting in Jalen Ramsey’s face during the Week 11 game between the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/pittsburgh-steelers">Pittsburgh Steelers</a> and the Cincinnati Bengals.



However, Chase was not successful, and insider Adam Schefter provided more details about what happened. “Hearing officer Jordy Nelson, jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA, has upheld the one-game suspension of Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase.”



At first, Chase denied spitting on Ramsey, but when a video clearly showed his action, he refused to speak to the media. Now, he will have to accept the punishment and the money he will lose as a consequence.

Ja’Marr Chase will lose $507,156 after the one-game suspension imposed by the NFL. Of that amount, $448,333 represents his weekly salary, and he will also lose a per-game bonus of $58,823.

The Cincinnati Bengals star will now receive a harsh penalty from the NFL, sidelining him for this Sunday’s upcoming game.



“The NFL is suspending Bengals star WR Ja’Marr Chase one game for unsportsmanlike conduct after he was caught on video spitting on Steelers DB Jalen Ramsey. Barring a successful appeal, Chase is now set to miss Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots,” reported Tom Pelissero on X.

However, Chase said on the locker room interviews that he didn’t spit on Ramsey, it’s a matter of their word pitted against each other. An up-close video of the altercation, however, does show a moment where Chase appears to spit on Ramsey just before punch is thrown.



It was a great game by the Steelers secondary, including Ramsey who had two tackles. This is his third worst-mark of the season. Chase had only two catches for 26 yards in Week 1 and five catches for 23 yards in Week 4. This game also stops a run of five games with at least six catches and 91 or more receiving yards for Chase.

The former Clemson receiver hasn’t had more than 56 receiving yards this year and that’s bad. He is incredibly talented and has had four out of his previous five seasons with 900 or more receiving yards. However, without Burrow, his usage suffers a lot. He hasn’t had a game of three or more catches all year.

His arm remains as the one weapon he has, so Chase and Higgins should have a huge upside with him under center. Higgins will play as the long-route target as he can impose himself with his 6-foot-4 frame and speed.
