“I enjoyed it,” Payton said about his time with Winston. “He’s big. He’s tremendous in the locker room. I said this already — he’s got this infectious personality. [He has] a smile on his face every day he’s at work. You hear him before you see him — that type of guy. . . . I really enjoyed coaching him and having a chance to work with him. He’s the ultimate pro. He has natural leadership abilities, and you feel that with him. You have to remember now there were years when he was in Tampa playing against us. I hated him because that was one of the opposing teams’ quarterbacks, but we always had some good battles. When he came to our program, he was a sponge as a backup. . . . “Of course,” Winston told reporters when asked if he wanted to stay in Cleveland. “In terms of my family — when I think about my family, I think about moving my kids, my wife having to find new friends. I think anytime where you’re able to solidify a role and a place and play good at that place, you like to be home. However, that’s out of my control. Again, my focus is on, ‘One play at a time’ . . . and just stacking it up day after day after day.”

Following this poor game, the Browns have decided to stick with him and give him the offense for at least one more week. HC Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Jameis Winston will be the starting quarterback in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints.



“I think you learn from every mistake, and I think there’s some plays that I think he can learn from for sure,” Stefanski said. “We were definitely going to play a style to try to get back in that game. More wide open, if you will, just trying to score some points. But I think you learn from every mistake, if you will. But it’s something that he’s got to — we have to do a better job of taking care of the ball.”

Shortly after the news he was staying in New Orleans came out, Winston took to social media explaining his decision to re-sign with the Saints despite Carr’s arrival. Though he said getting healthy will be his priority, the former Buccaneers QB also show a lot of confidence in himself.
“First, I love this city,” Winston wrote. “In all of my professional career, I’ve never felt so culturally in tune with a fan base. The Saints fans that I’ve met have been incredible. Y’all have made me and my family feel at home. That is why last season was so disappointing to me. I want to see this team and city succeed. I know great things are ahead for this team, and this city! I was led here by the spirit that’s why I would never run away from this new challenge. The things that led me here are still here. A stable organization, a championship caliber team, and a great fan base. 
“This year’s team like last year’s team is built to win a Super Bowl. Let there be no doubt, I am still a championship caliber starting quarterback in this league. However, getting healthy and staying healthy is my number one priority and I have suffered three devastating injuries over the last two years. I need to stay healthy to assist this team in getting to where we want to go. Most importantly, I need to stay healthy to get me where I want to go in my career! With that being said, I will serve and lead however I need to see this organization and city win! I am proud to say for one more year, at least Who Dat!”
Winston’s career hasn’t gone exactly to plan so far, since the expectations around him were much higher when Tampa Bay used their first pick on him in 2015. Now he’ll have to fight his way back to the starting job.

It’s actually a blessing in disguise, being able to strengthen other muscles – my hip flexors, my glutes, my quads and hamstrings. Just kind of revamping my whole body and just making sure everything is tight-knit and ready to go.”

Jameis Winston played only seven games last season and was posting the best passer rating of his career. The New Orleans Saints gave him an elite set of new weapons in Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry, and Michael Thomas will be back from injury.
Winston has the physical traits and tools to be the best QB in the league. He needs to stay healthy and avoid those risky and unnecessary mistakes he often makes. Otherwise, he may not even be on a roster by next season.

It’s been a while since Marcus Mariota was a starter. He now gets a fresh start with the Atlanta Falcons, but we all know he’s just a place-holder until Desmond Ridder is ready to take over and lead the offense.
Mariota needs to prove why scouts were so high on him coming out of Oregon. He needs to make plays with his arm as often as he does with his feet, as this will be his final shot to be a starter in the National Football League.

This will be Carson Wentz’s third team in as many seasons. He fell from grace after being an MVP candidate, and he’s mostl yto blame for the fact that the Indianapolis Colts missed the playoffs last season.

Even though the Carolina Panthers didn’t trade for Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo, that doesn’t mean they’re sold on Sam Darnold. If anything, the Matt Corrall pick only proves he’s walking on thin ice right now.
The word around the league is that the Panthers’ starting QB job is up for grabs. Moreover, they could pull the plug on Darnold mid-season and trade for a veteran if he starts dropping the ball—both literally and figuratively— again.

Yeah, we know most QBs struggle in their first year and that Peyton Manning looked like a bust in his rookie season. But Trevor Lawrence’s performances were somewhat worrisome considering how much of an elite prospect he was.

The team has decided to promote from within by naming longtime defensive coordinator Dennis Allen their new head coach but have to make another important decision soon.
The Saints have had a hard time at the quarterback position since <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/Top-50-greatest-quarterbacks-in-NFL-history-20200522-0001.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NFL legend Drew Brees</a> called it a career and this offseason could be crucial for the future. <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/25-worst-first-round-NFL-Draft-picks-of-the-past-decade-20200506-0003.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jameis Winston</a>, who had a good start to the last season, is set to hit free agency in the summer and the team must decide whether they’ll bring him back.
Winston threw for 1700 yads, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions in seven games in 2021 before he suffered a <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/jaimes-winston-suffers-significant-injury-aints-fear-acl-tear---20211031-0021.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">season-ending injury</a> in Week 8. According to Jim Trotter of NFL Media, the Saints are open to exploring all options but they have reasons to bring back Winston.
<h2>NFL Free Agency: The Reason Why Winston Would Return To Saints</h2>
“They’re going to explore every option as it relates to that position, meaning the draft, trades and free agency,” Trotter told James Palmer on NFL Network. “And if they go the free agency route, the quarterback that makes the most sense is Jameis Winston. He’s been in the system for two years. They’ve taken the time to develop him, he has a relationship with Pete Carmichael, who will be calling plays. So from that standpoint, Jameis makes sense.
“The other thing here too, Dennis Allen knows that this offensive system produces even without Sean Payton and we know how much we respect Sean Payton. Go back to 2012 when Sean was out for that year. They ranked 3rd in points and 2nd in yards, so the system is in place and the investment that they made with Jameis makes me believe that that’s the guy they will want to go after. My understanding is that if they had not already opened contract talks with him, they will very shortly.”
It would make sense given not only that Winston is familiar to the Saints but also that he proved what he was capable of doing as a starting quarterback before he tore his ACL. New Orleans is in a tough spot regarding its salary cap, with Taysom Hill also in its roster at QB.
However, the QB carousel has not started yet and they will have time to consider other options before leaning towards Winston. The Saints could also wait to the NFL Draft in April to fancy their chances of drafting a quarterback with the 17th overall pick.
