The New York Giants went all in this offseason by landing both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. Even so, those signings may not prevent the team from selecting <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/shedeur-sanders">Shedeur Sanders</a> in the 2025 NFL Draft.



The Colorado product is seen as one of the best prospects from this year’s class, and since the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-york-giants">Giants</a> hold the third overall pick in April, the team could feel tempted to make yet another addition to its quarterback room.



But how would Sanders feel about joining a team that already has two veteran players competing for the starting job? During a recent episode of his podcast, the 23-year-old made it clear that he’s not worried about the Giants’ offseason activity. In fact, he completely undestands why they signed both <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/russell-wilson">Wilson</a> and Winston.



“Whatever they want to do, I think it was a good move for them regardless,” Sanders said on ‘2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders,’ via Bleacher Report. The young QB, however, did let Wilson and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/jameis-winston">Winston</a> know that he expects a positive atmosphere in the next QB room he’s part of. This message, of course, also goes for other teams interested in him.

“Jameis is cool,” Sanders said of Winston. “That’s what I’m saying. Whatever QB room, whatever. I just hope it ain’t everybody in there just too serious, serious. You know what I mean? Just have a good vibe. You know, friendly competition, it is what it is.”

<h2>Giants face big decision with Sanders despite having both Wilson and Winston</h2>



Even though the Giants got the quarterback position covered for at least the 2025 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> season, they still have a big decision to make in the upcoming draft. Will they switch their attention to other areas of the field? Or will they secure a QB for the long term?



The Giants signed Winston to a two-year, $8 million deal before handing Wilson a one-year, $10.5 million contract. So even if things don’t go to plan with Russ, they’ll still have Winston on their roster in 2026.



And while Winston is five years younger than Wilson, he’ll still turn 32 next year. Getting Sanders, therefore, could give the Giants some relief at the position for the future. In the meantime, the player could learn from two experienced signal-callers before his time to start comes.



<h2>Sanders is not the only option for Giants</h2>



The Giants have no guarantees that Sanders will be available when it’s their turn to select in the 2025 NFL Draft though, as the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns will be on the clock before them.



But it looks like not even New York is sure about which prospect to select, as its decision may depend on who’s available at No. 3. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Sanders is not the only option.

“Talking to people who were at Colorado’s Pro Day on Friday, they believe that the Giants will either go Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter, whichever one is available,” said Sunday on SportsCenter. “They have been linked to Shedeur Sanders as well, they need the quarterback. So, those appear to be their options right now, but they look comfortable taking the best player available at No. 3.”

Brian Daboll and the New York Giants revamped their quarterback room with two experienced signal-callers by signing both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston ahead of the 2025 NFL season. And if there’s someone who knows what to expect from both, that’s Denver Broncos head coach <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/sean-payton">Sean Payton</a>.



Payton first worked with Winston during his time on the New Orleans Saints before having <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/russell-wilson">Wilson</a> in his first year at the helm of the Broncos. So what can he tell Daboll and the Giants about these two quarterbacks?



Speaking at the NFL annual meetings in Palm Beach, Florida, last week, Payton showed nothing but praise for both players. The Broncos head coach let the Giants know that we’re talking about very different quarterbacks, but believes they will make a good combination for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/brian-daboll">Daboll</a>.



“Both of those guys, honestly [I] had good experiences, obviously, in working with them,” Payton said, via Sports Illustrated. “They’re different types of players and personalities. That’ll be interesting.

“Obviously, Jameis is someone who is infectious. A lot of times, you hear him before you see him. That’s not a bad thing. And Russ is someone who’s internally driven, someone who you see the work ethic. I think it will be a good room.”

<h2>Payton believes Wilson and Winston will bring football passion to NY</h2>



Perhaps the biggest compliment both Wilson and Winston got from their former coach is that Payton highlighted their commitment to the game. And it should also be a great sign for Daboll’s <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-york-giants">Giants</a>.



“I think they’re passionate about playing,” Payton said of Wilson and Winston. “I think they’re very passionate workers about playing. I would say they’re football-driven, and I think that’s important.”



<h2>Payton’s experience with Winston in New Orleans</h2>



<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/jameis-winston">Winston</a> spent two years under Payton on the Saints, becoming New Orleans’ starting quarterback when Drew Brees retired after the 2020 NFL season. The former first overall pick went 5-2 in his first year as the Saints QB1 in 2021 before suffering a season-ending ACL injury.



<h2>Payton’s challenging stint with Wilson in Denver</h2>
