The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game is one of the marquee events of the season, bringing together the league’s top talent across various skill-based competitions. Caitlin Clark—arguably one of the most prominent figures in the league in recent years—was selected to participate, but will not see action this weekend.
The Indiana Fever’s biggest star was among the players fans were most eager to see on the court, but that appearance will have to wait at least until the next edition of this premier event.
Despite Clark’s absence, star players like Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, and A’ja Wilson are among the many elite talents expected to shine and captivate the crowd with their skills.
Why is Caitlin Clark missing the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game?
Caitlin Clark is not playing in the WNBA All-Star Game 2025 because she suffered a right groin injury earlier this week during a game against the Connecticut Sun.

Despite being voted an All-Star captain and receiving the most fan votes, she announced on Thursday that she would not participate in the All-Star Game or the 3-Point Contest to rest her body, citing her third lower-body injury this season.

Ionescu dominates from beyond the arc

Following her victory, she spoke to the media and revealed that she had reached out to Steph Curry—a legend in this very skill set.
“I called Steph after and was showing the trophy off because last time he beat be when we were here in Indy,” Ionescu said during her press conference. “So it’s just fun to be back here competing Obviously didn’t do it last year and so really happy to be able to be up here and put on a show for New York.”
