Mike Trout has been working to make a comeback after a nagging knee injury, with hopes of returning to continue his career with the Angels. He has already shown good form by blasting a home run during the spring training games.
In a recent statement to MLB insider Mike Rodriguez, Trout revealed that his current top three favorite active players are Mookie Betts of the Dodgers, Aaron Judge of the Yankees, and Bryce Harper of the Phillies. It’s worth noting that these players are the ones he admires and closely follows.
Although Trout has never played on the same MLB team as any of them, he is well aware of their careers, particularly Aaron Judge, who excels in home runs like him but boasts significantly different statistics in that category, with the Yankees’ player holding several personal records far surpassing Trout’s.
During the same interview with Rodriguez, Trout discussed the challenges he has faced in recovering from the injury that kept him away from the field, stating, “The last couple of years have been tough. People say you go through things to come out better. I have great support at home. I know the Lord has a plan for me, and I just trust Him.”
Trout reveals who were the toughest pitchers he has faced
Trout has faced some of the toughest pitchers in the game. Known as a dangerous threat at the plate, pitchers also recognize the challenge he presents. Among the pitchers who have posed a challenge for Trout are Max Scherzer, whom he faced only five times and suffered ten strikeouts.
- Max Scherzer
- Felix Hernandez
- Justin Verlander
Against Felix Hernandez, Trout played 32 games, hitting 8 home runs and 20 RBIs with a .352 batting average. However, the Venezuelan pitcher also struck out Trout 27 times. Conversely, in matchups against Justin Verlander, Trout had only 17 games with 11 strikeouts.
