The basketball world is still without words after Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson suffered a lower leg injury and had to undergo further testing.

Thompson was just coming off a career-threatening ACL injury he suffered during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals vs. the Toronto Raptors, and it seemed like his recovery was going according to plan.

Klay had to miss the entire 2019-20 season while rehabbing from that injury and, according to coach Steve Kerr, had a tough time being off the floor after barely missing a game throughout his career.

And, while most people wanted to stay positive about Thompson’s injury, the concerns about it being major rose to an all-time high when fellow Splash Brother Stephen Curry posted a picture sending his prayers towards his friend.

Obviously, this is standard procedure. They’re friends and colleagues and he’s just wishing him the best. However, if the injury was minor, then there’s no need to go through all of this, and it only made it even more suspicious.

There’s a growing concern around the league that Thompson may have injured his Achilles tendon. Needless to say, that would force him to miss yet another full season of NBA basketball and it’s unlikely that any player is able to come back from back-to-back injuries like that.

Hopefully, this will all be a scare and Thompson will be back in the hardwood in no time. He’s one of the most humble, hard-working, and down-to-earth guys in the NBA and you never want to see this kind of thing happen.
