The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots in dominant fashion. However, another plot to look at after the game is Cooper Kupp, who accomplished a rare feat after his team’s victory.

Not many wide receivers have won multiple Super Bowls with multiple teams. Kupp has just achieved that, winning it with the Rams in the 2021 season, and now with the Seahawks.

Kupp is now the seventh wide receiver in NFL history to win a Super Bowl with multiple teams. According to Pro Football Network, the others are:

  • Billy Davis (Cowboys, Ravens)
  • Ed McCaffrey (49ers, Broncos)
  • Gloster Richardson (Chiefs, Cowboys*)
  • Marcus Nash (Broncos, Ravens*)
  • Ricky Proehl (Rams, Colts*)
  • Torrey Smith (Ravens, Eagles)
    *Didn’t play the game

Kupp was highly relevant in both Super Bowls he played in

As seen above, half of the receivers that won Super Bowls with multiple teams didn’t even play in the second Super Bowl they won. In fact, the only other star wideout is Ed McCaffrey, who had three 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Kupp, on the other hand, was key to win both of his Super Bowls.

During his first Super Bowl, Kupp earned Super Bowl MVP honors by grabbing eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score. Now, he had six catches for 61 yards, leading the Seahawks in both categories. He is a clutch player to the highest of levels.

Is Cooper Kupp cementing a Hall of Fame career?

It is tough to evaluate Kupp’s career. He has been as reliable and good as a receiver can be, but his impact goes beyond what his stats say. In his nine-year career, Kupp only has two 1,000-yard seasons. However, one of those was when he won the Triple Crown, leading the NFL in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. That was the same season he was an All Pro and Super Bowl MVP.

However, he is a two-time Super Bowl champion too, and if not by injuries, his career would’ve been way better statistically. Still, the jury is out on Kupp, but his career might be winding down as he is 32 years old and now he is no longer the WR1 of the team.
