The 2026 NFL season is slowly beginning to reveal parts of its schedule, and it was announced that the New York Giants will face the Dallas Cowboys in the first SNF game of the year. The bad news? The last time this happened, the G-Men suffered a crushing defeat. The good news? The most recent divisional clash between the two ended in a Giants victory, snapping a long losing streak against Dallas.
September 10, 2023, was a key date for the Giants. On that fateful Week 1 game on SNF, Dak Prescott and his Cowboys crushed their rivals 40-0, marking the largest shutout in the history of this rivalry and surpassing the 35-0 victory Dallas handed New York back in 1995.
Still, not everything has to be negative, and there is still hope in this new direction led by John Harbaugh. Last season, led by Jaxson Dart, the Giants snapped a nine-game skid against the Cowboys in Week 18 after a 34-17 victory.
Once again, these two major NFC East contenders will face each other on Sunday Night Football. Over the past 15 years, this will be the eighth time they have had the opportunity to meet in a game of this magnitude.

Recent matchups between the Giants and Cowboys
The recent head-to-head record has undoubtedly been unfavorable for the Giants. The last 10 games between both teams have shown clear dominance from the Cowboys, not only in Arlington but also whenever they’ve had to travel to the Big Apple.
