It’s well known that for the Baltimore Ravens to have a successful NFL season, the physical condition of their starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson, will be a key factor. The former Louisville standout understands he is the leader of this team, and much will depend on what he can deliver on the field for his teammates.

The two-time league MVP spoke to the media and, when asked about his physical condition ahead of a new challenge with his team, he didn’t hesitate to say that he’s still working hard to stay in shape.

“Don’t say skinny, I stay in shape,” the talented quarterback said while pointing at his body, via ESPN.com. “I’m fit, because skinny is like puny. I don’t think I’m puny. I’m still 200 [pounds].”

John Harbaugh knows that it’s not just about having his full roster in top physical condition — they’ll also need to stay healthy throughout the season. Jackson has looked fit and highly motivated to achieve big things, and now the question is: can they finally reach the long-awaited Super Bowl?

A strong group built for big things

Another key reason why many Ravens fans have reason to be optimistic about a strong season is the growing chemistry Lamar Jackson continues to build with his teammates.

Zay Flowers, one of the key offensive weapons in the quarterback’s arsenal, spoke to the media about the relationship Lamar Jackson has been working to build in recent weeks.

“He wants to do a lot more personal stuff with us, just to get that team camaraderie on a good level,” the talented wide receiver firmly stated to the press.
