The New York Giants are definitely in need of top players to help Russell Wilson succeed. Now, a two-time Super Bowl champion has officially asked the team to let him return for the 2025 NFL season.

In recent years, the Giants have lacked a serious plan to achieve success. Since the retirement of Eli Manning, the NFC East club hasn’t had a reliable quarterback—but that might change this year.

Earlier this offseason, the Giants signed Russell Wilson in free agency. However, the front office is looking to add more weapons to build a stronger roster and give the former Steelers quarterback the support he needs.

The 2025 NFL season presents a major challenge for the Giants. The New York-based team has struggled to be competitive in recent years—not just due to quarterback issues, but also because of a lack of depth and talent across the roster.

With the arrival of Russell Wilson, the Giants are expected to improve their chances in the NFC East. Still, it appears they could use additional reinforcements to make a serious playoff push.

That’s why a two-time Super Bowl champion has stepped up to help his former team. Jason Pierre-Paul is ready to make his NFL comeback after not being on a roster last season, and he views New York as the ideal destination.

Ten years after a fireworks accident that cost him part of his hand, Pierre-Paul wants to suit up again in blue. While the Giants are his top choice, the veteran edge rusher hasn’t ruled out offers from other teams.

“I think that’ll be dope. Tremendous,” Pierre-Paul told ESPN. “To go back somewhere where my career started … the fans know me and know the type of player that I am. I’ll always be that type of player and just give ’em everything I got, which I know it’ll be more than enough.”

The 36-year-old won his first Super Bowl with the Giants in 2011. A decade later, he claimed his second ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helping defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.
