The Miami Dolphins are determined to get a new era going and that means saying goodbye to prominent players on the roster. For instance, they are releasing wide receiver Tyreek Hill, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. This will save the team $22.8 million against the salary cap.

Where does this leave Hill? The soon-to-be 32-year-old receiver is recovering from a dislocated knee and a torn ACL. For the first time in his career, he will be an unrestricted free agent. The Dolphins already released another star on the roster. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network also reported the Dolphins are releasing James Daniels and Nick Westbrook-Ihine.

Of course, his future will be determined by his recovery from the knee injuries. However, it’s almost a writing on the wall that a reunion might be brewing. The Kansas City Chiefs need a top-tier wide receiver, and with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce ready to come back, alongside the return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Hill could slide right in and reunite one of the most feared offensive units the NFL has ever seen.

Hill will have other tempting options in the AFC West

While Hill’s had his fair share of incidents outside of the football field, his talent and speed will always make him a tempting guy to have on the roster. In the end, he has had a generational run when healthy. As long as he has his speed, he will have plenty of suitors in the NFL.

According to Pro Football Network’s Ben Belford-Peltzman, the Chargers are the best fit for Hill. “In addition to the Chiefs, the Chargers could make a pull for Hill. This option is interesting because Justin Herbert has the arm strength to get the most out of Hill’s speed, and the Chargers have missed having a real game-changer at receiver.

Hill should go to a place where there’s other talented wideouts

Both the Chargers and Chiefs would be ideal destinations, because both rosters have already talented WRs. For instance, the Chiefs won’t rely solely on Hill, but they can use Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy, and Kelce as well. As for the Chargers, they have Ladd McConkey and tight end Oronde Gadsden.

This will help Hill get better looks, get into rhythm after the gruesome injury, and not put too much pressure on his output. In fact, making Hill a luxury instead of a salvation for a team. Given Hill’s injuries and his age, it might be the best for him and also, would help him get into a better team with high hopes.
