Artyom Levshunov was enjoying his third game as a professional in the NHL but unfortunately also witnessed another defeat for the Chicago Blackhawks, this time against the Vancouver Canucks on the road. He still doesn’t know what it’s like to win with his team.
Following that game, which ended 2-6 in favor of the Canucks, Levshunov made a brief but sharp statement, almost as a warning to his teammates, saying, “I want to score and win. We got to win too. A win is more important than goal, team win, team result, I think we got to work for it.” This comment seemed to reference the current losing streak the team is experiencing.
It is worth noting that this was Levshunov’s third official game, and despite the defeat, it was special because he finally earned his first point in the league. He expressed, “To do that here in the NHL, I’m so excited.” His assist led to Wyatt Kaiser scoring the second goal for the Blackhawks.
This loss against the Canucks adds to the previous three defeats, with Levshunov participating in two against the Avalanche (3-0) and Sharks (4-2), while the first loss of the losing streak, where he did not play, was against the Predators on March 8.
No playoffs this year for the Blackhawks
Unfortunately, with the challenging situation the Blackhawks are facing, they will not reach the playoffs. Currently, they hold the 9th spot in the Wild Card standings with 49 points, marking their fifth consecutive season missing the playoffs. Following the defeat against the Canucks, they still have 15 games remaining between March and April.
How long have the Blackhawks been out of the playoffs?
The last time the Blackhawks made it to the playoffs was in the 2019-20 season. At that time, they won in the qualifying round 3-1 against the Oilers but were almost swept by the Golden Knights in the first round, losing 1-4.
