PSG have secured their spot in the Champions League final against Arsenal after grinding out a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. The Parisians stood tall in enemy territory to clinch their second consecutive trip to the final.
The visitors essentially put the tie on ice just two minutes after the opening whistle. Ousmane Dembele delivered an early blow, slotting home a clinical finish following a sensational run and assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Holding a commanding 6-4 aggregate lead, PSG looked comfortable throughout the remainder of the match, while Bayern Munich struggled under the mounting pressure of needing a massive comeback to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Despite a defensive masterclass from Luis Enrique’s men, Bayern managed to find an equalizer in the dying moments. Harry Kane found the back of the net with just one minute remaining, but it was too little, too late to threaten the aggregate score. PSG now move on to defend their title against Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest, where they will aim to deny the Gunners their first-ever Champions League trophy.
