Cristo Fernandez portrayed Dani Rojas for several years in the acclaimed series Ted Lasso. Now, in a new chapter of his career, he will take on a new challenge after signing with USL club El Paso Locomotive FC on an undisclosed deal.
Although there would be no issues with his arrival at the club, according to the official USL website, the transaction is still pending league and federation approval. Fernandez already appeared in a preseason match against New Mexico United, after spending a few months training with the first team.
“Cristo is a great addition to our roster, adding another attacking threat to our forward line,” said Head Coach Junior Gonzalez. “His passion for the game and leadership qualities for our locker room allow us to continue growing the positive culture we strive for as a club.”
Fernandez’s story with soccer
Before his rise to fame as an actor, Cristo Fernandez had experience in his home country. At youth level, he played for Tecos FC. However an injury sidelined him from the pitch at the age of 15.
