Caitlin Clark is back. The young star made an impressive return after being sidelined for over two weeks with a left quadriceps injury and led the Indiana Fever to a big win 102-88 win over the New York Liberty.
Clark looked sensational with 32 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. In fact, during an amazing stretch in the first quarter, the pride of Iowa scored nine points in less than 45 seconds. That’s why, during an interview with ESPN, Caitlin admitted she felt great and warned that this is the kind of basketball the Fever can play to fight for a championship in the WNBA.
“I feel strong. I thought we played a good game. I think there’s a lot that we can still improve on, which is really positive for us, but, that’s how the Fever are supposed to play basketball. Uptempo, unselfish and working for your teammates. I’m really proud of our group.”
What injury did Caitlin Clark have?
Caitlin Clark suffered a left quadriceps injury, but at least in the game against the Liberty, the Fever star looked fully recovered. On social media, the biggest sign of that came during an incredible sequence of three consecutive long-range three-pointers.
“It felt good. I saw three in a row go in. So, that gives you a lot of confidence. I didn’t feel rusty. I think you’re just a little anxious to get out there and play again. I felt in good shape. Today, we really stuck together. We went on our own run.”
