Jake Paul got a well-deserved decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. While the fight itself was a bit lackluster, a win is a win. It was said prior to this fight that, should Paul win, he would enter official rankings so that he could potentially fight for a world title. On the other hand, there were rumours about him fighting boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez. Whatâs next for Paul? Letâs dive in.
First things first, Paul is now 12-1 on his boxing career. It was another decision win for him against a veteran 10 years past his prime. However, itâs a somewhat credible name in boxing.
Paul has said time and time again that he wants to be a boxing world champion. On the other hand, his actions have gone to make big celebrity fights and not precisely face tough, top-tier boxers. He also revealed some of his plans, but we know by now that nothing that Paul says is set in stone.
Whatâs better for Paul: Canelo, boxing world title, or go to heavyweight?
Look, both will be considerable step ups in competition for Paul. Having lots of different boxing champions, even if atop of their respective classes, Paul would have more achievable fights than Canelo.

Following his win over Chavez, Paul mentioned Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua, which is insane as one is preparing to face pound-for-pound great Oleksandr Usyk and the other is 6â6âł and way bigger and more technical than Paul. He also said another name, which leads us toâŠ
Thereâs another intriguing opportunityâŠ
What if he canât land Canelo or a boxing world title? What would Paul do then? Well⊠As you read above, he is 12-1. Who the hell is that 1? Thatâs Tommy Fury, Tyson Furyâs younger brother. He beat Paul by split decision. He is 11-0 but after 2023, he took a two-year hiatus, being on different reality shows and stuff. Paul said, âAnd Tommy (Fury) stop running,â making clear his intentions.
Fury admitted a while back that he was dealing with alcoholism post-boxing. However, he focused on getting back on track and came back with a unanimous decision win over Kenan Hanjalic on last May. Now that heâs back, maybe Paul wants to avenge his only loss if his other plans donât come to fruition.
