Once it’s all said and done, Caitlin Clark might go down as either the greatest or second-greatest player in college basketball history, even without a national championship.

He put the Iowa Hawkeyes on the map, but more than that, he drew millions of eyeballs to the women’s college basketball game, which is something no one had done before.

Notably, it didn’t take long before her college coach realized that she was special. More than her game and insane shot-making skills, it was her determination to be great.

Iowa coach gushes about Caitlin Clark

Caitlin wanted to be her best,” coach Lisa Bluder said. “She wanted to be coached, as well as any of the really good players that I’ve been around. Every one of them, they weren’t know-it-alls. They knew they could get better and continued to get better.”

Bluder claimed that as much as people rave about Clark’s sharpshooting skills, and rightfully so, he actually worked on every aspect of the game to master her craft every single day:

“Are they willing to put in the work required to be great? Because there are a lot of people who want to be great without really working hard at it, especially in today’s society,” she added. “Caitlin Clark didn’t start out by shooting logo threes. She started out by shooting layups. And people have to remember that. It’s a process. And so I want that work ethic, but I also want a positive attitude in my players. I think having that person in your huddle who’s always negative, it just wears on people. And so having a positive attitude was really important to me.”

Clark led her program to back-to-back title games. Unfortunately, they fell short of the goal both times, but she still left campus with some of the most impressive numbers in college basketball history.
