BYU Cougars star AJ Dybantsa is making moves and collecting wins on and off the court. The versatile forward is set to begin his collegiate career in Provo, Utah, with a surprising program.
After drawing interest from other notable programs, Dybantsa decided to join the Cougars. He was initially expected to go to college in 2026, but reclassified to accelerate his collegiate career. The No. 1 ranked prospect in the country will play for new head coach Kevin Young and a series of talented teammates such as Robert Wright, Richie Saunders, Keba Keita and Kennard Davis Jr.
Before he started playing for the Cougars, Dybantsa made an important announcement regarding his social media. On Monday, the freshman announced he was launching his YouTube channel. He’s already a highly touted players, but Dybantsa is now aiming at building his personal brand. This YouTube channel was created to share content with the fans throughout his first season in college.

Coming off Utah Prep, AJ Dybantsa was considered the No. 1 recruit in the country by ESPN (98 scout grade). He drew a lot of interest from multiple college basketball programs, including the iconic North Carolina, Alabama and Kansas.

He ultimately went with BYU, a program with an intriguing project led by Kevin Young. The Cougars went all the way to the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16, where the Alabama Crimson Tide sent them home with a commanding 113-8 win.
