Notre Dame Fighting Irish star Hannah Hidalgo keeps making a name for herself. She hasn’t always made the rounds for the right reasons, but she’s clearly one of the driving forces of college basketball right now.
Controversial and often criticized for her views, the outspoken tweener guard has let her game do all the talking on the basketball court. And her game speaks volumes.
That’s why she joined an elite and very exclusive list of players after an incredible season, earning both ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Hannah Hidalgo wins two major prizes after incredible season
“Hidalgo’s terrific sophomore campaign was rewarded with Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors, making her the third player in ACC history to win both awards in the same season,” reported Jack Maloney of CBS Sports. “A menace on both sides of the ball, Hidalgo averaged 24.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.7 steals, the latter of which led the ACC and was good for fourth in the country. Thanks in large part to Hidalgo, the Fighting Irish earned a share of the ACC title.”
