Bad news for Brazil: Vinicius Jr will miss the Copa America 2024 quarter-finals

Brazil played against Colombia in the last match of the group stage of the Copa America 2024in Group D to see who would qualify in first place. With the 1-1 draw they qualified in second place and Vinicius Junior will not be able to play in the quarter-finals.

The 23-year-old former Flamengo striker received an early yellow card seven minutes after the start of the match and got his second yellow card of the tournament, which makes him unavailable to play in the next quarter-finals match.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior received his first yellow card in the second group stage match of Copa America 2024 against Paraguay, just ten minutes before the end of the game. According to tournament regulations, accumulating two yellow cards results in a one-match suspension. Consequently, Vinicius will be unavailable for Brazil’s next fixture.

With the recent draw between Brazil and Colombia, the team coached by Dorival Junior finished second in its group with 5 points and will face Uruguay in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
