Aaron Judge is suffering through the same dismal situation as his teammates, as the New York Yankees‘ predicament seems to get more complicated by the day. However, according to the captain, the team’s mental state remains as strong as ever.
Based on Judge’s recent comments, he believes the team’s confidence is still as solid as it was before, and that nothing has changed on that front. But he does caution that the Yankees aren’t doing the necessary work to win games.
“We’re not doing our job,” Judge said about the team’s confidence during their struggles. “We’re not doing the little things that put ourselves in position to win baseball games. It’s going to take all of us… I wouldn’t say the confidence has really changed.”
Judge Is Struggling
Judge is another player who isn’t doing his job, just as he mentioned. His recent critique wasn’t just a warning to his teammates; it was also a self-assessment. Since returning from the injured list, Judge is just 3-for-17 and has yet to return to the outfield.
When Could Judge Return to the Outfield?
There is still no exact date for Judge’s return to the outfield. For now, his teammates, including Giancarlo Stanton, have been covering the position. However, Boone did clarify that his return to the outfield would be “relatively soon.”
Boone assured reporters that Judge himself is eager to get back to his outfield duties. “He’s optimistic that it will be sooner rather than later,” Boone said, adding that his recovery for throwing is progressing faster than expected.
