Brandon Nimmo sends clear warning about Braves and Phillies before Mets head to Atlanta

Brandon Nimmo is looking to help the New York Mets move past their current losing streak after being swept by the Rays. As they head to Atlanta, he made it clear the Braves won’t be an easy challenge.

Nimmo emphasized that the Braves are not a team to take lightly, regardless of their record. He warned that Atlanta can do damage on both sides of the game—offensively and defensively—a message clearly meant to keep his teammates locked in.

“The Braves are a very good team. I don’t care what their record says,” Nimmo said. “Very, very good team. They can play really good baseball, pitch very well, hit very well, especially in their home park.” That’s how strongly Nimmo spoke about the Braves ahead of the series starting Tuesday, June 17.

Nimmo also talks Phillies

After facing the Braves, the Mets will stay on the road and fly to Philadelphia. Nimmo didn’t hold back in praising the Phillies either, calling them one of the most talented and dangerous teams out there.

“Same thing with Philadelphia—we know they’re an extremely talented team, very, very good. Very dangerous at home, great pitching staff,” Nimmo said, pointing to the tough stretch the Mets must prepare for.

Mets still feel ready to fight

Despite just being swept, the Mets came into the Rays series riding a six-game winning streak. They also swept the Phillies earlier this MLB season at home. This week’s matchup in Atlanta is the first of three series against the Braves this year, with the next one set to begin June 23.
