Garrett Crochet is ready for another game against the New York Yankees, his second of the year in the Bronx against the Bombers. So far, as a member of the Red Sox, he has not lost a single game against them, a fact the Yankees are well aware of.
Although his outings haven’t been perfect, Crochet’s two previous games against the Yankees were good for the Red Sox, as both ended in team victories. One was a win for the pitcher, even in a game where things got complicated and he allowed five runs.
Game 3 will be another important test for Crochet, who comes into the matchup following two tough outings for the Red Sox, a pair of losses against the Astros and Marlins. The first was an official loss for the pitcher, while in the second he gave up only one run, but the relievers ultimately ruined the game.
Crochet Has Been Tough on the Yankees
Crochet delivered 16 strikeouts in his two 2025 games against the Yankees. In 14.1 innings, the Bombers managed just 10 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks, and only 2 home runs against him. He faced 55 batters on 204 pitches for a 3.77 ERA, which are solid numbers for the young pitcher.
July was a perfect month for Crochet with four wins, the first time this season he has had such a good month. June could have been perfect as well; after a good start from Crochet, the Red Sox lost 3-2 to the Angels.
The Yankees have managed to score only three runs against the Red Sox so far in this series. Even though Boston came into this series without having won a road series this month, with the most recent being a 2-1 loss to the Astros, they are off to a good start against their rivals.
