The moment all fans were waiting for is finally here. Major League Baseball’s ā€˜Field of Dreams’ game will take place on Thursday, August 12, 2021 between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.

The game – which will be played in Iowa – will be back after a one-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, fans will get to witness one of the most iconic and emotional days of the regular season.

But, as it usually happens, plenty of people wait until the eleventh hour to purchase their tickets. Sadly for them, it seems like they’ll have to offload a huge sum of money if they want to attend this event.

ā€œAccording to TickPick, tickets for the contest on the secondary market are the most expensive for an MLB regular season game on record. The average purchase price is $1,413.63 and the most expensive ticket available is $3,972, according to TickPick. Fans who want to attend the game can get tickets at StubHub or TicketSmarter,ā€ reported NJ.com.

This doesn’t come as a surprise considering how excited fans are to watch this game and how popular and storied are the two franchises that will participate in the event. But it’s still kind of preposterous for the average fan.

Both teams will wear signature throwback uniforms to resemble those from the past, and the league built a massive MLB logo on a corn maze next to the stadium, which will resemble the old Comiskey Park.

There’s no doubt that all baseball fans should attend one of these games at least once in their lifetime. But if you haven’t bought your tickets already, you may have to break your good-old piggy bank just to get a couple of seats.
