<p><em>“<strong>Obviously, those are special nights, and Carp can do it</strong>,”</em> said manager <strong>A.J. Hinch</strong>. <em>“I don’t know how often anybody ever sees [a three-homer game], but when he gets good pitches to hit, he’s as dangerous as anybody.”</em> For Carpenter, it was a night unlike any he’s experienced — even dating back to Little League. <em>“I think I only hit one homer there, total,”</em> he joked.</p>

After taking the first pitch for a ball, he chased a similar one and flied out to center — a near-miss that would’ve tied the MLB record. <em>“I was trying,”</em> he said with a grin. <em><strong>“He made a good pitch there, but I was definitely going for it.”</strong></em></p>

<p>As Carpenter reflected on his night, he didn’t just credit his preparation or pitch selection. Instead, he offered a message rooted in gratitude and faith. <em>“<strong>I haven’t seen the ball particularly well the last week or so… </strong>The only constant is Jesus Christ, and that’s what my hope is in,”</em> he said. <em>“And then he gives me a night like tonight. It’s just such a blessing.”</em></p>
