Who knows how much longer Kyrie Irving will insist on not receiving the Covid-19 vaccine, and therefore, miss practices and games with his team. What we know is that Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets will continue facing questions about this topic.

It’s not easy to begin a new season when the atmosphere is not great, and the Nets may have felt that at the beginning of the 2021-22 NBA season. But KD doesn’t want to look for excuses.

The former Golden State Warriors superstar has previously mentioned the team had to move forward and it was pointless to lose time on getting mad at Kyrie or wonderinghow things would be like with him on court.

Kevin Durant explains how the Nets have to deal without Irving

KD is well known for not making any excuses and being quite honest when things aren’t going well. After his team fall to 1-2 against the Hornets, Durant explained his team has to be strong enough while Kyrie is unavailable.

“I mean while we playing in a game I’m not gonna sit there and say yo, we get down or its a tight game like damn we don’t have enough,” Durant said, as quoted by Clutchpoints.“Like no, we’re not going to be thinking about that during the game. We definitely want Kyrie Irving out here on the floor. And he’s a huge part of what we do.

But it’s not happening right now so we gotta figure it out. But nobody is gonna lose confidence while we playing and hope Kyrie come and save us during the game. Nah, we gotta play … but the good part about it is we got a game tomorrow(Monday).”

Durant couldn’t have explained it better. Of course it’s a shame to have a player like Kyrie on the sidelines right now, but that’s not his nor his teammates business. Instead, they shouldfocus on what’s up to them, which is performing at their best.
