The future of Ben Simmons has been a topic during the NBA offseason. He is determined to leave the Philadelphia 76ers and many teams have reportedly shown interest in signing the former number one pick. However, for now, nothing has been resolved.

Sixers' GM Daryl Morey has been active in trade talks for Simmons, however it seems like the high expectations that the Philadelphia team with his price, has cooled down any potential agreement for the 25-year-old.

Now, two weeks ahead of the start of the training camp, Simmons is still in Philly. While from the outside it appears the relationship between the sides is too damaged, new reports considered that still hope for the Sixers.

Will Ben Simmons play for the Sixers this season?

Journalist Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times recently tweeted that the team expects Simmons to play for them this upcoming season. He also stated they “don't plan on making a deal that would drop them back in standings & not getting viable offers.”

While it also has been reported that Ben Simmons won’t be attending the training camp in an attempt to force his trade, Morey remains patient and he hasn’t lowered his price for the three-time All Star.

With Simmons being locked up under a contract for the next four seasons and a elite player who still has the prime years of his career ahead, it’s obvious that the Sixers don’t want to lose with his trade. Let’s see how this ends.
